Designed to introduce young children to the study of science. This program looks at structures revealing that they are all around us and are both man-made and found in nature. The program shows that structures exist all over the world. As young students explore the science of structures, they learn that humans and animals build specific structures with specific functions and that structures have many forms. They discover bridges, honeycombs, and the dwellings of First Nations peoples and of cultures around the world. They learn of concepts such as load compression and tension and also come to understand the need for recycling and how structures impact the surrounding environment. DVD features include chapter segments with DVD-ROM allowing access to teacher's guide.
