Designed to introduce students to a study of the world's religions. This program looks at the religion of Judaism. Students investigate its history from the story of Abraham, a patriarch of the Jewish faith to the establishment of the nation of Israel. Also explores Judaism's practices, traditions and beliefs, sacred writings, places of worship, ceremonies and holidays, and spiritual leadership. Additionally, students visit a synagogue, see a boy preparing for his Bar miztvah ceremony and follow a family as they participate in the rituals of the Passover. DVD features include : English and Spanish language tracks ; discussion questions and activities ; chapter select and closed-captioning.
