Designed to introduce students to a study of the world's religions. This program looks at the religion of Islam. Students investigate its history and learn about Muhammad, the prophet whose teachings provide the basis for Islam. Also explores practices, traditions and beliefs, sacred writings, places of worship, ceremonies and holidays, and spiritual leadership. Students also visit a mosque or masjid, learn about the Five Pillars and daily prayer ritual of salah, and visit a family as they celebrate the holiday of Eid-al-Fiter. DVD features include : English and Spanish language tracks ; discussion questions and activities ; chapter select and closed-captioning.
