Series designed to introduce viewers to scientific concepts in a variety of fields. This program focuses on those labour-saving devices we call simple machines, namely: levers, inclined planes, pulleys, screws, wedges, and wheels. Provides numerous examples of simple machines such as cranes, catapults, cable cars, and artifical joints. Also describes gears, paying special attention to those on bicycles.
