Designed to introduce children to a study of the human body. Through the analogy of a science fair project, graphics, and animation, this program explains that the human body is really one big system, composed of many smaller systems, each with their own specific job to do. At the same time, however, each system must still interact with the others to get its job done. Examines the functions of each body system and considers the relationships among cells, tissues, and organs. Emphasizes that to be healthy, all systems of the human body must work together. Includes one activity which demonstrates how maintaining one's balance involves work from all body systems and one project which allows students to construct their own model of the human body. Other features include: Spanish and English language tracks ; discussion questions and activities ; an investigative data sheet ; chapter select ; and closed-captioning. |
